When the Old Version of Me Is Gone

Strength Through the Seasons

There are seasons of life when we know exactly who we are.

We know what we’re doing.

We know where we’re going.

We know where we belong.

And then sometimes, without really asking permission, the season changes.

The job ends.

The routine disappears.

The role you knew how to fill isn’t yours anymore.

And suddenly you’re standing in the middle of your own life wondering:

Who am I now?

Maybe the answer isn’t that you’ve lost yourself.

Maybe you’re growing into someone you haven’t met yet.

You don’t have to be useful to be valuable.

You don’t have to be productive to be purposeful.

You don’t have to know what the next season holds to trust the One who does.

Maybe this season isn’t asking you to do more. Maybe it’s asking you to be.

To rest.

To heal.

To create.

To love.

To notice.

To let God redefine purpose in a way that doesn’t require you to prove yourself.

And maybe someday you’ll look back at this strange, uncomfortable season and realize…

God wasn’t taking your purpose away.

He was teaching you that your purpose was never your job in the first place.

Hi, I'm Josie. I'm so glad you're here. I'm the creator of Chronically Cozy, a place inspired by my own journey living with fibromyalgia and chronic illness. What began as a desire to organize helpful resources has grown into something much more—a cozy home where people can find encouragement, practical tools, honest conversations, and the reminder that they don't have to walk this road alone. Outside of Chronically Cozy, I'm a wife, a singer-songwriter, a crocheter, and a proud cat mom to nine wonderfully spoiled cats. I find joy in creating beautiful things, whether that's writing a song, crocheting something with my hands, or building spaces that help people feel welcomed and understood. Living with chronic illness has taught me that healing isn't always about finding a cure. Sometimes it's about finding hope, learning to rest without guilt, celebrating the little victories, leaning into faith, and discovering beauty even on the hard days. Everything I share here comes from my own experiences, countless hours of research, and a heart that genuinely wants others to feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Whether you're visiting for a few minutes or decide to stay awhile, I hope you'll always find kindness, comfort, and a place where you feel at home. Welcome, neighbor.
